I am a San Francisco abstract expressionist painter and photographer. I have been painting since my youth and creating art is as necessary to my life as breathing is to most people. My work is not meant to represent anything from the physical world but can be interpreted that way depending on the viewer. My passion for abstract art is driven by the broad range of emotions and unique interpretations that each person can view in a piece. I find inspiration in the ambiguity and lack of defined meaning. In my paintings, I explore the interplay of color opposites and try to create a sense of motion on the canvas. I employ a process of layering color with texture to create depth and three-dimensionality. On the personal side, in no particular order, the following things make me smile: dogs, a good burrito, a game of poker, NPR, bourbon, and a witty t-shirt.
